Which web browser should I use ?

You can use any web browser, generally Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari will be the fastest. Regardless of which you prefer, ensure you are running the latest version.

Can I use my own email client ? and if not why not ?  Can I forward email to another client ?

Yes, you can use your own email client provided it supports G Mail. This includes common programs such as Microsoft Outlook (Mac and Windows), Thunderbird and Mac Mail.

Email forwarding can be configured within G Mail to send notifications to your personal address.

What are the settings required for using the email client on my SmartPhone or Tablet ?

It is advised to simply use the Google G Mail App on mobile devices. 

However, you can set it up on native mail clients as below.

Setting up GMail on Android

As you would expect, Google have made it very easy to set up Gmail through an Android phone or tablet. To setup your Gmail on an Android phone, follow these steps.

  • Open the Settings menu and go to Accounts (& sync settings) on your device.
  • The Accounts settings screen displays your current sync settings and a list of your current accounts.
  • Touch Add account.
  • Touch Google to add your Google Apps account.
  • You will be prompted to Sign in to your Google Account.
  • Enter your full Google Apps email address as your username, and then enter your password.
  • Select which services you’d like to sync.
